This April, Geeta was awarded a Grammy Certificate for her work on Ricky Kej & Stewart Copeland's (drummer for the legendary band The Police) Divine Tides record.
Geeta had collaborated with Ricky on another project (Shanti Samsara) in 2015 and she is moved to see that music born in a collaborative moment in the past can resurface in such a way.

Geeta to Conduct Immersion Sound Bath Event on November 13th, 2020
The Light House Women's Community is holding it's first-ever Vocal Immersion Sound Bath experience and Geeta has been asked to lead the event! The 2-hour session will include therapeutic techniques through breath-work, individualized aromatherapy with essential oils, energy work, and education that explains the art, science and metaphysics of sound healing.

Geeta is honored to be giving her Sound Bath Therapy at Grace Huang’s Ahimsa Yoga Retreat in Ojai March 13-15.

Geeta's Colorado Residency July 8th-July 14th
If you happen to be in the Denver / Boulder, Colorado area, Geeta will be doing an artist residency there July 8-14! She is very excited to be able to provide 2 group therapeutic sound bath sessions (July 11 & 12), private sound therapy, voice therapy, and vocal coaching sessions.
Geeta's Rucksack Performance Receives Rave Reviews
On June 25th, 2019, Geeta participated in a performance of the musical monodrama "Rucksack" conducted by composer and Geeta's dear friend Russell Steinberg along with the Brightwork Newmusic Chamber Sextet as part of their launch concert as a nonprofit at Monk Space.
Russell Steinberg's stunning contemporary composition draws on Julie Heyman's autobiography "From Rucksack to Backpack", detailing her harrowing escape from the Nazis, her subsequent joy beholding the Statue of Liberty when she and her family immigrated to the USA, and then her somewhat comical run-in just a year later with American police when she was arrested while hiking in the Pocono mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Noted publication San Francisco Classical Voice wrote, "As conducted by the composer and sung and spoken, with occasional vehemence, by Novotny, Rucksack resonated in several ways."

Geeta Performs 'RUCKSACK' with Brightwork Newmusic
On May 30th, 2019, Geeta performed the monodrama, RUCKSACK, composed by Russell Steinberg with the chamber sextet Brightwork Newmusic at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. This stunning contemporary piece draws on Julie Heyman's autobiography "From Rucksack to Backpack", detailing her harrowing escape from the Nazis, her subsequent joy beholding the Statue of Liberty when she and her family immigrated to the USA, and then her somewhat comical run-in just a year later with American police when she was arrested while hiking in the Pocono mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Russell's dramatic musical adaptation is a cultural expression that mirrors our current social climate on immigration.

Geeta to Perform Sound Bath During Art Exhibition at Subliminal Projects Gallery
On Saturday March 9th, 2019 Geeta will be performing her Vocal Immersion Sound Bath at Subliminal Projects Art Gallery.
Artist Chad Kouri's new collection, 'The Center', will be on display and Geeta's performance will follow a presentation by Peter Trivelas and Lynn Kaplan, director of the David Lynch Foundation, focusing on Transcendental Meditation (TM) and what the David Lynch Foundation offers to the Los Angeles Community.
Lynn Kaplan will also lead a 20-minute group meditation session.

Summer Piano Splash III
The National Association of Composers Presents Summer Piano Splash III, featuring Geeta along with composer Russell Steinberg performing his original piece "Rucksack." The piece is a musical monodrama that parallels the current political climate in respect to immigration. Los Angeles Psychedelic Science Symposium
Come join Geeta for a presentation of her Experiential Vocal Immersion Sound Bath for the Los Angeles Psychedelic Science Symposium at UCLA's Ackerman Grand Ballroom on Friday, June 22nd from 1-2 PM.
Geeta's Sound Bath will include 13 Quartz Crystal Bowls, Tibetan Bowls, Percussion, and other sound instrumentation with her voice integrated. The Sound Bath will also feature Erin Reeve on Indian Flute, Celtic Flute and Percussion; Ben Malcolm on Didgeridoo and surprise multi-Grammy winning artists!
The Los Angeles Psychedelic Science Symposium (LAPSS) welcomes the world's leading scientists, doctors, and researchers in the field of psychedelic science to educate a diverse audience with current evidence-based research, in addition to medicinal and therapeutic applications. Luminaries such as Dennis McKenna and James Fadiman, amongst others will be presenters during the weekend. Additionally, there will be CE credit available for mental health professionals and RNs.

Interpersonal Neurobiology Conference at UCLA
Geeta had the opportunity to perform her Vocal Immersion Sound Bath at UCLA's Interpersonal Neurobiology Conference in March of 2018. The focus of the conference centered around "Relationships and the Health-Promoting Power of Connection Across the Lifespan."

Home, Where Everyone is Welcome with Deepak Chopra
Geeta is honored to have contributed to Deepak Chopra's latest project, "Home, Where Everyone is Welcome: Poems and Songs Inspired by American Immigrants."
This incredible book and album, created by Deepak Chopra, Kabir Sehgal, and Paul Avgerinos, brings together a collection of poems and songs based on the lives of notable American immigrants. Additionally, all of the songs on the album are performed by American immigrants and first generation children of American immigrants.
Geeta, along with Deepak Chopra and other creators and artists on the project, have been participating in live events that include musical performances, poetry readings and panel discussions, in which they share their family heritage, speak about the artistic process of building the project, and discuss a number of important and timely humanitarian issues.
Thirty Seconds To Mars Camp Mars
